KEYS GIVES OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

KEYS” stands  for “Keys to Exceptional Youth Success.”

Our goal is to ensure that individuals with disabilities in our community can access academic, vocational or other post-secondary learning opportunities.

KEYS realizes that students with disabilities are underserved and have limited post-secondary opportunities. We know that students with disabilities are skillful learners and are only limited by the people and circumstances that surround them.

We find inspiration in our children, many of whom work twice as hard as their peers for the same knowledge, yet persevere with character and determination to achieve their high school diplomas. They want what we all want for ourselves and society — to become vital and contributing adults.

I would like to sincerely thank KEYS Big Bend for awarding me this scholarship. This scholarship means a great deal to me [and is] a tremendous help to me both financially and in reducing the stress of paying for school.

Thank you for giving back to help students with disabilities. I have learned through personal experience that the arts are an inclusive environment where students with disabilities can experience acceptance and thrive.  When I reach my goal of becoming a professional musician I plan to be an advocate for arts education and participation opportunities for everyone.

Best,

Levi Vickers
